As a conceptual artist, Gavin’s interests range from gender, identity and culture, to history, memory and place. In his practice he utilises analogue and digital still photography and has an interest in experimental and alternate processes. Drawing much inspiration from cinema and literature, he often works within the realms of constructed portraiture, narrative and documentary photography.
Gavin has exhibited in several group exhibitions, published a documentary photography book and has work held in private collections in Australia and New Zealand.
Gavin is an Irish born Australian, currently based in Canberra. He is a practicing visual artist who graduated with a degree in Visual Art from the Australian National University School of Art Photomedia Department in December 2011. Gavin is currently completing his Honours year at the same institution.
